Yes I just used a 1 Direction song.
No I’m not a fan.
Its stuck in my head & it just worked ok, don’t judge me.
Anyway, I must admit I’m a bit of a wedding whore. I’ve been to a fair few for my age and been bridesmaid way too many times that I like to consider myself a bit of an expert. So it means a lot when I say that the wedding I attended last night was the best I’ve ever been to! Granted I didn’t go to the ceremony, only the evening (I was a guest of a friend) but it was still probably one of the nicest weddings I’ve been to so far.
As they say the devils in the detail, well this bride really put the effort into the little things. For starters one of my favourite features of this wedding party was the sweets. Yes you heard right, sweets (that’s candy to everyone else). Now I’m a sucker for anything sugary, so of course I was in my element! With a cute vintage style stall set up, big glass jars of goodies with little sweet shovels were spread out all over it and personalised paper bags were on hand to fill up. Not only was this a lovely idea on its own, but the added touch of the pink personalised bags with the name & date of the couples marriage on, was something I found super adorable.
Next up was the photo booth. This idea was so cool and very fun (especially after a drink or three)! A big trunk of props was provided to make it even more interesting. You name it they had it, from feather boas to Viking hats, disco Afros to over sized sunnies every comedy prop was available to make the pictures hilariously memorable. After you’d snapped your four shots two sets were then printed off, one for you to keep and another to be stuck in the guest book for you to write something next to. Again it was details like this that set it apart from the normal weddings and actually made signing the guest book fun! Although I did have to ask the guy running the photo booth to let us keep the last couple of sets, as we’d already been in three times and it was kinda getting embarrassing. I did scan in a couple of the prints of me & my best friend for you guys to laugh at but for some reason they’re all wonky, so I had to crop out the pictures and re-frame them. Like with the paper bags, the sides of the photo prints had the name and date of the couples marriage to up the cuteness factor even more.
The top it all off, we were all whisked outside for a ‘group photo’ which turned out to be a beautiful fireworks display, that the happy couple were completely unaware was planned. I did take a ridiculous amount of pictures but only a few of them are of the fireworks actually exploding, so I apologise for these slightly blurry four which turned out to be the best. You’ll just have to take my word for it that they were really something special!
What did you guys get up to at the weekend? Have you been to any weddings that you thought were special recently?
