We Danced All Night At The Best Wedding Ever

Yes I just used a 1 Direction song.
No I’m not a fan.
Its stuck in my head & it just worked ok, don’t judge me.

Anyway, I must admit I’m a bit of a wedding whore. I’ve been to a fair few for my age and been bridesmaid way too many times that I like to consider myself a bit of an expert. So it means a lot when I say that the wedding I attended last night was the best I’ve ever been to! Granted I didn’t go to the ceremony, only the evening (I was a guest of a friend) but it was still probably one of the nicest weddings I’ve been to so far.

As they say the devils in the detail, well this bride really put the effort into the little things. For starters one of my favourite features of this wedding party was the sweets. Yes you heard right, sweets (that’s candy to everyone else). Now I’m a sucker for anything sugary, so of course I was in my element! With a cute vintage style stall set up, big glass jars of goodies with little sweet shovels were spread out all over it and personalised paper bags were on hand to fill up. Not only was this a lovely idea on its own, but the added touch of the pink personalised bags with the name & date of the couples marriage on, was something I found super adorable.

Next up was the photo booth. This idea was so cool and very fun (especially after a drink or three)! A big trunk of props was provided to make it even more interesting. You name it they had it, from feather boas to Viking hats, disco Afros to over sized sunnies every comedy prop was available to make the pictures hilariously memorable. After you’d snapped your four shots two sets were then printed off, one for you to keep and another to be stuck in the guest book for you to write something next to. Again it was details like this that set it apart from the normal weddings and actually made signing the guest book fun! Although I did have to ask the guy running the photo booth to let us keep the last couple of sets, as we’d already been in three times and it was kinda getting embarrassing. I did scan in a couple of the prints of me & my best friend for you guys to laugh at but for some reason they’re all wonky, so I had to crop out the pictures and re-frame them. Like with the paper bags, the sides of the photo prints had the name and date of the couples marriage to up the cuteness factor even more.

The top it all off, we were all whisked outside for a ‘group photo’ which turned out to be a beautiful fireworks display, that the happy couple were completely unaware was planned. I did take a ridiculous amount of pictures but only a few of them are of the fireworks actually exploding, so I apologise for these slightly blurry four which turned out to be the best. You’ll just have to take my word for it that they were really something special!

Never a Bride

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

Though I am only 21.

And this time I’m not actually a bridesmaid… but it sounded cool, so whatever.

As you may have gathered I’m off to a wedding tonight but I’m also having a night on the town with my best friend afterwards. So this means I get to dress up, which I love doing and will take any old excuse to! I always enjoy the getting ready part of the night, sometimes more so than the actual evening. Tonight I’m feeling a midi, as I’ve been told other people attending are going all out in maxis etc, so a shorter length just isn’t gonna cut it! I chose to wear my bright yellow midi with laser cut out detail at the top. I love this dress because its very fitted so shows of my figure nicely and the colour is so vibrant it makes me feel all summery šŸ™‚ !

Now I’m usually one to stick with the rule of no shoe straps with a midi, as it cuts what little leg you have showing down. In order to do this with my other midi’s, I (very stupidly) took the ankle straps off my nude platforms and wore those. This was all well and good until my feet started to get hot and began slipping out my shoes, making movement a real pain. So it’s because of this that I decided this time to break my rule and go with a shoe with straps. Well I say straps, these shoes are move like cuffs but I can move in them, they’re comfy and they go!

I paired these shoes with my old faithful big black & gold clutch (who doesn’t love a clutch?). While make up wise I went for a smokeyish eye with a plain pinky lip and kept my hair simple by wearing it down. I kept the rest of my jewellery minimal, so that the outfit wasnt too busy and just wore my favourite Marc Jacobs watch.

We’re the Millers & OOTD

What’s it about?

David (Jason Sudeikis) is a pot dealer who enlists the help of Rose (Jennifer Aniston), Casey (Emma Roberts) & Kenny (Will Poulter) to create a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of weed into the USA from Mexico.

What did I think?

Well, I went in to see this film with quite high expectations. My boyfriend, who had agreed to watch it with me again, had assured me it was ‘even funnier than The Heat’. This single statement set the bar high for the film, as I was in stitches over the straw scene (if you’ve seen it you’ll know what I mean) and still chuckle when I think about it now. Needless to say I was very excited!

So, did it live up? Honestly, not really. I’m not saying the film was not funny or bad in any way, I actually really enjoyed it. But it didn’t have me in the fits of laughter I was in while watching The Heat. Expectations aside the film was consistently funny, maybe not laugh out loud all the time but enough to have me smiling (or cringing) throughout. Jennifer Aniston was probably my favourite character from the film and is looking pretty dam good playing a stripper at the age of 44!!

Would I recommend?

Yeah I would, don’t go in with super high expectations like I did and you should have a laugh.

What I wore

Today I chose to wear my old faithful black skinny jeans, cream tee with embellished neckline, black flats and my favourite dark green bag. Make-up wise I teamed the look with a simple winged eyeliner and a stain of bright pink colour on the lips.

I love, love, LOVE this cute little bag from Primark! I bought it a while back after I had seen it in a magazine and eventually hunted it down at a local store. However until recently I had marked it down to land of the lost, when I couldn’t find it after a few half-hearted attempts at searching my room. Typically it was found by my Mum when she was looking for stuff to give to my sister and has again become my new fav!

What to Expect

Ok so I’m off to see We’re the Millers later today and shall be posting my first ever film review!

Don’t expect it to be super long or waffle on about the mise-en-scene, all I’m going to be doing is telling you what I thought of it and whether or not its worth a trip to the cinema for. I’m also gonna be including a what I wore piece at the bottom of the post (though I am debating a separate post altogether), which is very likely to be longer than the review itself.

Catch ya later šŸ™‚

My First Time

No it’s not about that! Dirty minds šŸ˜›

I meant my first time blogging of course! If I’m honest though I’m no blogging virgin either. I have previously tried to write (and maintain) a blog on a couple of occasions but never made it past a week of writing posts before I eventually forgot or just plain gave up. This time however I plan to stick with it!

I have recently graduated and have found myself in that job hunting stage of life, where you spend all day doing not a lot and praying someone is nice enough to hire you eventually! It is because of this I have decided to write a blog, a collection of my thoughts, likes & general ‘stuff’ from my life, in order to keep me (and hopefully you!) entertained.

So yeah, wish me luck!
